Make Wise Use of Your Time

Here I am, relaxing at the Center Club, taking a break from Martial Arts and school.  It’s not always about just focusing on Martial Arts and school but finding a balance.  The Center Club is a great place to hang out and just be yourself.  Of course I need to dress up a little bit as “jackets are required”.  I do like to wear my jacket and I am comfortable in them.

I also get to bring my own laptop and since there’s free wi-fi at the Club, my Mom gets to work and I get to have fun while waiting for her.

The staff in the Club address me as Master Tiebens and it was hard to get used to it in the beginning so I asked them to just call me Garrett.

A big part of Martial Arts is the discipline and refinement that goes with it.  Martial Arts is not just about force but it’s also about peace, serenity and really choosing to be surrounded by good and beautiful things and experiencing fine food.

Decide that you will find out what it is that gives you that certain peace and that you will ask to experience refinement in your lives.

Decide that you’re going to include peace in your daily life…

Why The Martial Arts Kid?

Ever since I was a young child, my Mom, Emma Tiebens also known as “The Relational Marketer” has always encouraged me to dream a big dream, pursue my passion, respectfully speak my mind and to never give up on my dreams.

I am now 9 years old and since I was 2 years old, I remember already pursuing a passion. It started with dinosaurs where I could memorize names and main characteristics of over 40 of them when I was 2 years old, transitioning to my love for musical instruments at around 4, then gemstones at 6, then Lego Minifigs around 7 and from 8 years old, it has always been Martial Arts.

What fascinates me how it enables me to focus, give my best and master a move or a skill. It has also taught me to be more patient.

Here I am with my friend Aaron and our Grand Master of Martial Arts USA School, Master Sang S. Kim. I just started Martial Arts when this photo was taken.

Here I am now… I am a few months away to getting my Black Belt and I will change this photo when I do…
